Research Position Available - Aerodynamics / Propulsion


Research Scientist or Associate Scientist in Experimental and Numerical Research on Aerodynamics and Propulsion

Applicants are invited for the position of Research Scientist or Associate Scientist to participate in experimental and/or CFD studies for Aerodynamics and/or Combustion/Propulsion research.

The applicant should possess a Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degree in the area of Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, with a good background in Fluid Dynamics and Aerospace Propulsion.

Experimental Research: The applicant must have a comprehensive knowledge of the common experimental techniques employed in fluid dynamics research, such as the measurement of flow velocity, pressure, temperature, etc. Necessary skills associated with the design of experiments, data acquisition and analysis will be required.

Numerical Research: The applicant must also have a comprehensive knowledge in CFD and extensive experience in code development.  Prior experiences in OpenFOAM and appreciation of commercially-available CFD software will be required.

Ability to work independently and good communication skills are essential.

Associate Scientist in Experimental Research on Aerodynamics

Applicants are invited for the position of Associate Scientist to participate in experimental studies and flight tests for Aerodynamics research.

The applicant should possess a Bachelors in the area of Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, with a good background in Mechanical Design, Fabrication, and Flight Dynamics.

The applicant must have a comprehensive knowledge of the common fabrication and assembly techniques employed in wind tunnel and flight test models/prototypes, and familiar with experimental techniques employed in wind tunnel tests, such as the measurement of force, moment, flow velocity, etc. Necessary skills associated with the design of experiments, data acquisition and analysis will be required.

Applicants are expected to conduct both research and engineering work, and participate in outdoor field trials.

Ability to work independently as well as in teams and good communication skills are essential.
