Sharing about 14th International Workshop on Detonation for Propulsion (IWDP 2026)

17 July 2026, Friday, 2:30pm - 3:00pm Speaker: Mr. Chua Peng Hwee, Engineering Doctorate Student, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NUS
Venue: Seminar Room 8D-1, Level 8, Temasek Laboratories Event Organiser Host: Dr. Chin Yao Wei

DESCRIPTION

The 14th International Workshop on Detonation for Propulsion (IWDP 2026) was held from 4 May to 8 May 2026 at Keio University in Yokohama, Japan. The meeting discusses state-of-the-art research and innovation in detonation-based applications for propulsion. I will cover several studies pertaining to performance quantification, wave instabilities and design of a detonation combustor.

17 July 2026, Friday, 3:00pm - 3:30pm Speaker: Dr. Huang Xin, Research Scientist, Temasek Laboratories, NUS
Venue: Seminar Room 8D-1, Level 8, Temasek Laboratories Event Organiser Host: Dr. Chin Yao Wei

DESCRIPTION

The International Workshop on Detonation for Propulsion (IWDP) is a meeting to discuss the state-of-the-art research and innovative ideas in detonation-based applications for propulsion. Students, engineers, and scientists from all over the world debated and shared their most recent accomplishments in detonation for propulsion during the 14th IWDP 2026, which was held at Keio University on May 4-8, 2026. In this sharing session, I will introduce various interesting studies reported in this workshop. The topics include shock-droplet interactions, rotating detonation engines, reflective shuttling detonation (shuttling transverse detonation), and detonation engine launch projects.
