Topics include UAV design and control, path planning, autonomy, swarms, communications, navigation, sensor fusion, as well as applications. I will share my experience as well as some relevant topics and insights gained during the conference.

Sharing on the 1st European Fluid Dynamics Conference (EFDC1)

29 November 2024, Friday, 2:30 - 3:00pm Speaker: Dr. Ng Jee Hann
Venue: Seminar Room 8D-1, Level 8, Temasek Laboratories Event Organiser Host: Dr. Chin Yao Wei

DESCRIPTION

The 1st European Fluid Dynamics Conference (EFDC1) was held from 16th to 20th September 2024 at Aachen, Germany. EFDC1 is the largest European conference in the fluid mechanics community, covering a wide range of topics. I will share several interesting talks and the emerging trends in fluid research. In particular, I will focus on the move towards Exascale computing and the efforts that the European research community has undertaken to leverage the powerful computing infrastructure to solve industrial scale fluid problems. Such knowledge and experience may be useful to gain a significant leap in our simulation capability while circumventing the constraint of limited computing resource.

Sharing from the European Drag Reduction and Flow Control Meeting (EDRFCM) 2024

29 November 2024, Friday, 3:00 - 3:30pm Speaker: Dr. Jonathan Tay Chien Ming
Venue: Seminar Room 8D-1, Level 8, Temasek Laboratories Event Organiser Host: Dr. Chin Yao Wei

DESCRIPTION

The EDRFCM 2024 was held from 10th to 13th September 2024 in Torino, Italy. The meeting was a relatively informal one and focused on the latest research and developments in the field of drag reduction and flow control. A brief summary of the more interesting developments of interests to TL@NUS will be presented. Also to be presented will be some of the facilities available at the flow control and aeroacoustics laboratory at Politecnico di Torino, which was kindly opened for the EDRFCM 2024 attendees to visit.
