The 2024 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APS/URSI) is a premier event for electromagnetic research, held from July 14-19, 2024, in Florence, Italy. It covers a wide range of topics, including computational electromagnetics, antenna design, and wireless communication systems. In this sharing session, I will present how deep learning models, such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and generative adversarial networks (GANs), are being used to optimize the design of metasurfaces and metalenses for applications like dual-beam forming, as well as other antenna designs, such as multi-port antennas.

I will be sharing some insights from a short course I attended on multibeam antennas, and a few noteworthy papers that highlight significant advancements and practical applications. These selected works will provide valuable knowledge and innovative approaches to enhance our ongoing projects and research endeavours.

This conference covers a wide range of topics including antenna design and analysis to electromagnetic theory, wireless communication systems, and beyond. I will be sharing insights from the conference in the area of antennas and propagation. My discussion will include a few topics presented at the conference, such as: 1) Aperture sharing for wideband or multi-band frequency response, and 2) Tightly Coupled Arrays.

This prestigious symposium gathered leading researchers, engineers, and practitioners from around the world to explore and discuss the latest advancements in antenna design, electromagnetic wave propagation, and related technologies. I will be sharing the points I collected during the conference, which is novel and interest from my perspective, such as tri-band high power antenna, and stacked square-ring antennas.
